Dungeon defenders how does piercing shot work

Like its Huntress counterpart, Piercing Spreadshot's damage scales based on the user's weapon damage and both their Hero Damage and Piercing Spreadshot stats. I've one as a secondary weapon that I sometimes use. This one does work with charged sphere. There are several other options, like the burst shot bow which I believe has infinite range and has good single target dps.

I have the most fun using the Aerial Bane, preferably fire or storm 4x. When birds are hit they drop grenades on critters so total DPS is hard to measure.

I mean - i meet a lot of new players - what they usually have in common is - the lack of information and put effort to find it and want to get carried as fast as possible - and on first struggle they QUIT: Just 2 days ago i was willing to help a guy to climb onslaught 32, after i join he basically told me he got carried until that point and never even tried to build defense.
