Contrary to popular belief, Words With Friends is not just a Scrabble clone. There are tiles available during any one Words with Friends game match. Of these, tiles are emblazoned with one of the 26 letters of the English alphabet, while two are blank.
On the graph you can see the number of tiles and corresponding point values for each of the letters in Words with Friends. The most frequent letter with 13 tiles is the letter E, which is also the most frequently used letter in the English language.
In contrast, letters J, K, Q, X and Z are each represented by just 1 tile as the most infrequently used letters in the English language.
This shows us that the distribution of letters in the English language has a fundamental role in deciding how many tiles of each letter there will be in Words with Friends. As a general rule, more frequent letters carry fewer points, while less frequent ones carry more.
