This includes all indoor public spaces and when inside College transportation.
The only exceptions to this requirement are when individuals are alone in 1 an office, 2 an enclosed cubicle, 3 a vehicle, or 4 their own room in the residence hall. Follow CDC guidelines on the type of mask and how to wear it.
Three-foot or six-foot distancing will NOT be required on our vaccinated and masked campus. The College will continue to monitor and adjust any distancing rules if needed, should state guidelines change.
Instead of using gloves to protect yourself from germs, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC recommends washing your hands. It is the most effective protective measure against spreading germs as soap has special properties that break up the virus effectively.
If you are unable to wash your hands frequently, use hand sanitizer before and after touching surfaces. Gloves help keep your hands clean and lessen your chance of getting germs that make you sick, but only when used correctly. Unfortunately, gloves often give a false sense of security, especially if you touch your face or any other surface such as a cell phone or keys that you may later touch without gloves.
If your gloves have been in a pocket or have touched any surface, they are no cleaner than hands that have touched the same surface.
If you touch your mucous membranes, such as your nose or mouth, with the gloves, whatever the gloves have touched has now entered your body. The College cleans surfaces in areas that it has mandated to be in use, such as core student service areas, admin exempt employee offices, as well as public facilities such as bathrooms, on a daily basis. The College follows CDC cleaning guidelines , which state that cleaning high touch surfaces with soap or detergent daily is sufficient to reduce the relatively low transmission risk of COVID via surfaces.
In situations where there has been a suspected or confirmed case of COVID indoors within the last 24 hours, the presence of an infectious virus on surfaces is more likely and therefore high-touch surfaces in the immediate area should be disinfected using disinfectants on the U. The risk of transmission via surfaces can be reduced by wearing masks consistently and practicing hand hygiene. Filters will be monitored, maintained, and replaced on a regular basis.
A College employee will contact you to set up an appointment. Curbside appointments can be booked now for drive-through and walkup access through December 17th, The curbside service dates and times are subject to change and are extended during the first 3 weeks of the academic quarter. We will try to accommodate student appointment requests outside of these posted hours:. Spectators are allowed to attend.
