Instead of a stinger, many of them had hardened tail flukes. The largest among them could reach nine feet, making them about the size of modern dolphins. Not something you want to fish up. They went extinct millions of years before the rise of the dinosaurs, during the deadliest extinction event of all time. Comment by lordlight This macro will let you spam one button to use all fish in your bags without searching and it is very quick. I saved each macro by zone. In town so you can use all of the local services and still see trade.
Also no worries of being ganked or being attached. Comment by Solardark Sea Scorpions can be found in the sea of course. The best spot I found was in Taldor at the Orunal Coast 53, You have to avoid mobs coming in on boats but it is a good amount of pools with fast respawn. Comment by Makita I found the best place to farm these The Sunset Shore in Talador, it's a little island off the Western coast, on your map it's west of Gul'rok. There are lot's of pools, and on the island are no mobs at all.
Pools are plentiful from the extreme west side of the harbor Beacon of Sha'Tar around 34,16 all the way to the easternmost point of the harbor Sha'tari Anchorage around 50, There are literally dozens of pools that respawn quickly all along the docks. NPCs will leave you alone. You can continue north from 50,25 up the Orunal Coast all the way to around 53,6; however, you have to deal with the boats coming in from the west. Pattern is repetitive and they'll put you in combat if too close; however, it's simple to learn the patterns.
Simply stay north of Shattrath City if you'd prefer - plenty of pools there. Comment by Kiyoine If your level is not high enough to run around mainland Nagrand safely, go to the sandbar west of Talador that Munee mentioned, then continue west along the coast or over the water with a mount or buff of choice.
The larger island visible in the South Sea is unnamed and completely devoid of mobs, but has plenty of pools of sea scorpion on its eastern side.
You can also continue west over the waters south of Nagrand and find the occasional pool by submerged mushrooms whose caps peek just above the water line.
Just be wary once you start seeing hostile mobs again. Comment by Munee In Talador at There is a rare NPC here in a crate that, when killed, provides nothing in the way of loot.
It's name is Grrbrrgle. After you have wasted your time killing it for the satisfaction of saying, "I did that," this tiny spit of land is surrounded by node after node of Sea Scorpion School. I counted 9 just in the immediate area around the island. View in 3D Links. Please keep the following in mind when posting a comment: Your comment must be in English or it will be removed. Comment by Sisciara Unlike what some people claim, the spawn seems to be rather rare. After hanging on the spot for 30 mins waiting for one to spawn, I decided to get rid of some battlepets in the Tainted Forest.
About 5 minutes later a single one spawned SE of the dark portal. Comment by looked for these critters in the hills behind the dark portal and there were none to be found, so I went searching for other things to kil and capture.
So they do spawn in the hills there, just need to be patient. Comment by decembre These, along with many of the other rarer battle pet spawns, seem to work much like fishing nodes--where only a set amount of battle pets can be on the map at one time. When wild pets are caught or killed in the zone, it frees up a spot for a new spawn to appear somewhere on the map. Because there are more 'normal' pet nodes in a zone, it is more likely that a 'normal' battle pet will spawn, with a smaller chance to spawn at the 'rarer' spawns.
So if you're waiting around for hours, it could be because no catches or kills are happening in your zone--especially if it's a low population area. The first time I tried looking for the Scorpling, I was flying circles for an hour around the mesa and found nothing.
The second time, I checked the mesa, didn't see anything, then flew a lazy circle around Blasted Lands killing any pets that I could find. I did this for about 20 mins, then flew back and two had appeared.
The were both poor, but at least I had caught one for achievements, and without waiting hours upon hours. This trick has worked for other rares also, like the Jade Oozling and the Tiny Twister--both of which only have spawn points in a zone.
I generally hunt for pets around am, so I have little to no competition and don't have to worry about campers sweeping in as I clear pets. Comment by utoch I would add, try at night. Did not see any during daylight hours at all. However saw two upon log in while in zone. Comment by Was hovering over the mesa while I tabbed over here to check tricks to try and get it to spawn, tab back to the game to move, and one had spawned under me, and to my surprise it was a rare one!
I did two or three rounds of this. Then a scorpling spawned. Anyway, it worked for me. At about pm. It's an uncommon. Which was better than I was expecting and I definitely would have settled for less so I feel very lucky, for a change. Comment by Jayrai I've been battling random critters in the area, in hopes of finding a Scorpling as a secondary. I think it's safe to say that they do not. I've been at it for a few hours and no luck. Though, I could just be having bad luck.
If you have seen one as a secondary, please post! Comment by Aramata I just found around 10 spawned in this area at 10am realm time. Fought 7, 5 were poor, 2 were white. I had tried before at other times with no luck at all, and after I came back from a random dungeon at around there were none to be seen.
GG blizzard! Comment by TamerThomas There are currently 6 scorpion pets in the game. Here is a quick reference list. Comment by Bigwurm Found mine at Comment by Merkilan Just caught an uncommon one directly behind the dark portal on the mesa above at AM server time. Seems the best time to find them is when we should be sleeping.
