Inside, to her surprise, there was something that looked like… liquid gold, the beverage was as shiny as the sun. As shiny as the sun… a Sundrop Flower…. Is this actually real?
They both smiled at her, and the calm and content in their eyes was all she needed as an answer. She looked for her husband, who was already at her side, with the bowl in his hands. She carefully took it in her own ones and started drinking it slowly, while Haru was helping her to keep it steady.
She really didn't know how to describe the taste, it just felt warm and calming, like the sunshine that had been entering her room and keeping her company through the day, surely a very good omen. Once she was done, she briefly closed her eyes as she felt everyone's eyes in her, but she paid them no mind as a comforting and relieving feeling spread throughout her whole body. Mitsuha has felt love spreading through her body before but this feeling… It was truly indescribable.
It was as if she was being embraced by warm sun rays. She felt as a tingling yet delightful sensation was making its way across her veins bringing with itself the relief her body had been aching for so long now. And finally, she felt like she could breathe properly, as her head stopped pounding, as her stomach was calming down and making way for the appetite she thought she had lost.
Queen Mitsuha felt as good as new. Everyone in the room celebrated as the royal couple embraced each other smiling as brightly as the golden liquid. They chose to believe and not give up, and their hard work had paid off in the best way possible. They both stayed still in each other's arms for just a little longer, until Mitsuha broke the silence.
Well, I'll do it after meeting with Suna-san, thankfully tomorrow wasn't going to be a busy day for me anyways. They are the kingdom's cutest babies after all! Whoever declares something else will be thrown in the dungeons!
They both laughed wholeheartedly, happy that the tense atmosphere was gone. Thinking that tomorrow will be a new day and that everything will be alright, the King and Queen drifted off to sleep, and now the Miya family was finally resting at the same time.
King Haru and Queen Mitsuha were sitting at the head of the big table in one of the castle's many rooms that were used to hold meetings with various nobles and royalty members, either from Inarizaki or from other kingdoms.
It was one of the castle's most grandiose places: it was beautifully decorated with a couple of white marble shelves with many exoctic souvenirs that came from many kingdoms across the world, as well with at least twenty paintings hanging from the walls that were also acquired in other lands. At the center of the room was the table with fifteen chairs on each side and one in the head, though Haru asked one of the servants present in the room with them to put one of the chairs to his side at the head of the table so that Mitsuha could sit beside him.
Hanging from the ceiling there were three enormous chandeliers that weren't being used at the moment since the sunlight was coming through the very tall cristal doors that led to a wide balcony.
It was the first hours of the morning and the King and Queen were patiently waiting for Suna-san. King Haru was wearing his usual attire which consisted of a white tunic with intricate golden embroidery, along with long white pants and boots, and hanging from his shoulders there was a red cape made with velvet which also had beautiful gold embroidery. Queen Mitsuha chose to use a very elegant lilac dress made with silk with long sleeves, which had silver designs across the fabric of the skirt.
Both of them were wearing their respective crowns made with fine bronze, with Inarizaki's emblem at their front, which was the Sun and the Moon. Haru's was embedded with white diamonds and Mitsuha's with black obsidians.
Lastly, King Haru was holding Osamu while Queen Mitsuha was holding Atsumu, whose hair was just as long as they had encountered last night. Both of them were fully awake but a little calm as they woke up not too long ago and were wrapped in white comfy blankets.
One could appreciate perfectly that their hair colour wasn't the only way to distinguish the twins, as Atsumu had beautiful honey colored eyes which almost seemed golden when the sunlight was reflecting on them, and Osamu had gorgeous grey eyes who were a little lighter around the pupil that could remind someone of a cloudy sky moments before a storm.
After a few more minutes, Suna-san finally made her appearance, one of the servants opened the door for her and she hurriedly made her way to the King and Queen while trying not to drop the several leather books she was carrying in his arms. She tried her best to put them alongside the table, but then a couple of them fell to the floor, though the professor paid them no mind as she clumsily bowed to the royal couple.
And please, there's no need for you to run, you are with child after all. He had gained great appreciation for the clumsy professor since she had been the one to find out about the flower that saved his family. He felt really indebted to the woman.
Suna didn't lose any more time and looked for Atsumu with her gaze, her eyes widening as she stared at the baby sitting in the Queen's lap. She said as she put down the book she had been reading and picked out another one from the table. Haru and Mitsuha straightened in their chairs as they paid their full attention to the professor. Suna took a deep breath as she prepared herself to inform the royal couple of the discovery.
She personally believed that it was something wonderful and miraculous, but she couldn't predict how the parents of the child with such power could react. She could only hope for the best. I can't be totally sure just yet, but… I think that its power was reborn and it has taken the form of Prince Atsumu's golden hair.
King Haru and Queen Mitsuha were at a loss of words, they looked at each other with eyes full of concern and confusion and glanced back at the professor. Seeing the state of the King and Queen, Suna rapidly began talking. I have reasons to believe that he now has the power of the Sundrop Flower at his disposal, that he has the ability to heal the sick and injured with his hair.
It says here that ingesting the flower may not be the only way to call upon its power. There's this old nursery rhyme written here, the lyrics should invoke the flower's power and wake it up.
Nursery rhymes again, how fitting. Queen Mitsuha was remembering her conversation with Hina. Suna put the open book on the table and pushed it towards King Haru. Queen Mitsuha could guess what her husband was thinking and quickly took her hand out of his to take the book herself. Queen Mitsuha quickly read the lyrics. She smiled at him and began caressing his cheek.
King Haru and Professor Suna were observing Atsumu attently, as well as every other servant and maid in the room, who were highly curious as to what would happen to their Prince. Queen Mitsuha's beautiful and soothing voice was filling the room as she began singing the incantation, though she stopped quickly as a golden glow was forming at the top of Atsumu's head, right at his hair's roots.
Have you seen it?! The golden glow was beginning to form once again in Astumu's hair, but this time the Queen didn't stop. She kept caressing her son as she sang. Everyone present was fascinated as the golden glow was slowly making its way down the rest of the prince's golden hair. The golden glow was now covering the Prince's entire hair, and it stayed that way for a few seconds and started vanishing as the Queen stopped singing. Queen Mitsuha had tears in her eyes as she held her baby closer to her chest.
Then, he remembered. The servant bowed and quickly made his way out the room. Once he came back, he handed the scissors to King Haru. With Osamu now in the arms of the one of the maids, he crouched next to his wife who was still sitting with Atsumu in her lap.
King Haru carefully grabbed one strand of golden hair which was at the bottom left part of Atsumu's head, underneath the rest of the hair, and cut it. The Queen gasped as she saw how that strand of golden hair in her husband's hand suddenly turned a dark brown, the same thing happening to the hair of the same strand that remained in her son's head. We must maintain the rest of the prince's hair untouched. Once this amazing discovery was made, King Haru quickly asked for Atsumu to be taken to his Royal Advisor, Watanabe-san, so he could finally make him feel better.
And that he did. The Queen sang the Healing Incantation as Watanabe-san was caressing Atsumu's hair and the hair did its magic, healing the old man almost instantly. The Royal Advisor was truly baffled about Atsumu's condition, and he recommended the King and Queen to keep it a secret, at least as for now. This was because Atsumu was still a baby and he shouldn't be exposed to everyone who longed for his power just yet, but when the young Prince was a little older, then he could share it as freely as his heart desired, as long as that was what the King and Queen decided.
The royal couple agreed to the wise advice, and so everyone in the castle who knew about this had sworn to their rulers to keep their secret for now. They still had a lot to learn about what Atsumu could do, but they were sure that their son would grow out to be a generous prince who wouldn't hesitate to share his power and help his people, they would make sure of it.
For the moment, they didn't want to do anything more without Atsumu's consent. Next chapter: "The golden prince", a 20 years time jump. Prince Atsumu is used to doing his healing sessions and helping the townspeople, so he doesn't expect someone to attack him as someone else lurkes in the shadows.

The green flower was quickly rushed to the healers who placed it in a bowl of water for the Queen to drink from, but she was already too weak. Both you, Olivia, and Yunan. I know both of you can keep her safe and loved. The General and Advisor had gone silent, unsure of what to say, but nodded anyway. Anything, for their Queen. An hour later, princess Marcy had been born and the queen had passed away.
The baby had the same brown eyes as her mother and black hair as her father. As Lady Olivia held a young, happy Marcy in her arms and stood by Yunan, she figured everything would be okay. The animal was as big as Marcy and even came with a peculiar name, as both Olivia and Yunan thought Marcy would find amusement in it: Joe Sparrow. A week later, when the moon was high, a large newt had snuck into the castle. He snuck in through a window and quickly passed a cage where a large bird slept, making it to the crib little Marcy was asleep in.
Andrias smiled to himself as he began to sing softly,. He felt the power wash over him, and sliced. Lady Olivia and General Yunan had quickly burst into the room due to all the noise, only to arrive in time to see Andrias jump out the window with the child. Both the advisor and general called for searches in the entire kingdom and beyond, but no one ever found the newt nor the child.
Deep inside the forest, there was a hidden tower, where Andrias had kept Marcy hidden. He raised the little girl like his own child, adopting a fatherly attitude.
He even taught her the song, so she may sing it as he combed her hair. You need to stay here, where you are safe.
